...I'm so guilty. Can't believe it's been almost an entire year since I last posted here!

Terrible.

Bad me.

Okay, here's a quick bringing-you-up-to-date post:

Went on holiday to Cornwall again, Got a new job (am already thinking about looking for a new one), Started learning a new language (Spanish), Started dancing again (I forgot how dizzy Jiving can make you when you're not used to it), Have developed a liking for the tv show NCIS, Am enjoying reading every Bill Bryson book I can get my hands on, and I'm scheduled for the operation on my leg come mid-July.

A rough-guide, I know, but it still counts as an update!

*sigh*

I've discovered lately that I really, really don't like country music. To be more specific, I don't like modern country music. It's terrible. They've taken a brilliant genre and turned it into pop music. It sucks more than my hoover.

I think I'm a throw-back *grin*

I love hearing the old Traditionalists like the Stanley Brothers, Bill Monroe, Merle Haggard, Patsy Cline, Buck Owens, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson and Waylon Jennings.

Out of the so-called "New Traditionalists", there's only one I can spend any time listening to: Dwight Yoakam...and he's coming into his fifties now, so the whole "New" thing doesn't quite jive :)

I'm thinking that once the "New Traditionalists" go the way of the Old, I'm not gonna have any live concerts that i can enjoy any more :(

...does this man have no brain?!

"Television evangelist Pat Robertson suggested Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine retribution for the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, which Robertson opposed...."

Do you think Christmas brings out the worst in those who claim they're human, or do you think that, just because there's so many of them in such small spaces in these stores, they go temporarily insane?

I'm standing firmly by my belief that the world would be a saner place if I had either
(1) a cattle prod or (2) a tazer. And, I admit, I want one for no other reason than it would give me some small satisfaction to zap those who have no respect for anything on this planet...including, it seems, themselves.

The pathetic little twit, standing three paces from the garbage can, who choose to drop his trash at his feet. *Zap!*

The neds/chavs/morons who belive it's their god-given duty to breed like packrats and then force elderly people off their seats in the buses: "You'll need to move, my pram has to go there". Indeed. *Zap zap!*

The self-absorbed loudmouths who constantly stop in front of you in the street and start yelling on their mobile about how bad it was that Danny got kicked in the head last night. "I wiz there, mate", they screech. And, in the same breath, turn on someone walking past them with a "What're you starin' at??" *Zappity zap..zap!* Ah hell, one more time.. ZAP!

I hate Christmas shopping. Actually, that's not entirely true...I just hate other people shopping when I do.

Once again, I've been lazy and not updated for a while. Having said that, there hasn't really be too much of interest going on. At all.

Only news I have is that I graduated yesterday. The ceremony was actually really well done - only downside was the bright red gowns we had to wear! It was all over within 60 minutes and we got food and coffee afterwards. Odd thing being, we got wine or other alcoholic drink beforehand...shouldn't it have been the other way about?

I even stood for the prefessional photographer!

What's unfair is that dad decided he wanted a family portrait taken at the same time as my grad photo, but never mentioned until we were halfway back to Glasgow! If he'd have said something at the time, we could have just handed over the extra pennies and got it then!

The weather wasn't too bad. I mean, it was absolutely freezing - even my dad complained! - but there was no snow or rain the whole time. We actually had blue skies and fluffy clouds on the way down ;-)

All-in-all, it was a pretty good day.

Oh boy. I really should have paid attention, rather than staring into the mirror in the hairdressers yesterday. I look like I'm five.

I'd swear I had this style when I was in primary school.

*shrugs*

Oh well, 'spose that's what I get for attempting to grow it!

Jeez
It sounds like WWIII out there. Rockets and everything firing off about the place.

Wonder how many people will be maimed *this* year?

Next door's poor little dog is going bananas: it scretches and barks everytime a firework explodes.

I may be offline for a few days starting tonight or tomorrow -- bought a new pc. It's an excellent machine, outstanding actually, and I'm dying to set it up!

But it'll take quite a while, and involve a re-arranging of my room, so I may vanish for a few days..but I'll be back eventually ;-)

Finally, my letters have arrived. With the 3pm mail this afternoon. Amusing part being that it says on the opening letter that they need to received my response to the "Will you be attending the graduation ceremony?" question no later than tomorrow. Let's hope Royal Mail actually pick up and deliver then, shall we - I tossed it into the postbox at 3.45pm this afternoon.

The gown and assorted crap have been ordered online: can't believe I have to wear a red gown! Red! Y'know, up here the only thing that differentiates Masters students from others is the little bit around the shoulders. Only that little bit is red.

But Teesside? Oh, they have to have the entire damned thing red! Including the hat!

And speaking of "hat" -- I never had to wear one at my last graduation. It's not fair that we have to wear some oddly-shaped (not to mention coloured) thing on our heads this time. Not fair at all. If you ask me, these uni folk just want to humiliate their students one last time before we can escape their evil clutches!
